This year has been a strange one for us all, but now it’s time to relax and enjoy our Christmas summer holidays and then start a fresh new year. Whether you’re headed to the beach or just staying home, you and your family deserve to make these holidays extra special. Christmas is only days away, but it’s still not too late as you can incorporate these ideas any time during your break.
Most of us have spent a lot more time on our devices this year with travel being limited and remote working becoming more common. To be fully present in any moment, it helps to disconnect from our devices to focus on our environment and company. It’s not easy to hide our phone away, but without a doubt you will connect more with your friends and family this way.
CAMP AROUND THE TREE
If you have a Christmas tree up, a fun idea is to camp around the tree with your household whether it’s outdoors or in. It’s extra cozy with festive lights, mince pies, and other holiday treats. The kids are sure to love this idea!
BEGIN A NEW TRADITION
It’s never too late to start a new tradition with your family. There are plenty of things you can do, such as, a gift wrapping contest, a holiday quiz/game, a bake off, or simply adding new dishes to your feast. You’ll never forget the first year you started the tradition hence making it extra special.
WATCH HOLIDAY FILMS
You may already binge watch holiday films at this time of year – it’s one of the best ways to get into the season! We recommend a movie marathon with your loved ones and making it extra fun by decorating, dressing up, and feasting on festive drinks and snacks.
We all have a lot to be grateful for, but rarely express our gratitude to others. Why not take time to share your year of positives with your tribe. This can be done through writing or even expressing around a campfire. Remembering all you’re grateful for is a great way to kick start a new year.
