Summer is long gone and Winter has hit us with it’s chilly mornings and nights by the fire. This change of season for most of us is the ideal time to revamp our wardrobe with some new winter essentials. However, for those of you who do not have time to go shopping or perhaps want to save up for your summer holiday, there are several ways for you to reuse your summer clothes in the winter. Below is a list of tips to help you out.
Summers are all about beautiful flowy floral dresses you wear on barbeque evening parties. There is no need to put them in the store, instead wear them in the winters paired with tights, boots and perhaps a leather jacket to keep yourself warm.
Summer dress to winter skirt
We all have beautiful summer dresses that we wish we could wear all year round. You can do this now by converting them into skirts. No, you do not need to cut them off! Wear your summer dress with a sweatshirt or jumper on top to give it the look of a skirt. You can wear tights or leggings with this look as well. Accessorize your outfit with a belt, long necklace, or cross body handbag.
You can layer up your plain t-shirt with a sleeveless vest. It can be brightly colored or patterned depending on your own sense of style.
Maxi skirts are a summer’s apparel. However, you can even wear it in the winters, but do not forget to wear thick tights underneath and perhaps a jumper on the top, preferably with high waist maxi skirts (just pull it up a bit more). Bright oranges and reds are great colors for both summers and winter.
Winters are usually considered too cold for shorts, however shorts paired with sheer leggings of even thigh high socks are trendy this season. Hence, do not pack away your shorts; instead, wear them this winter as much as you did in summer.
Strappy sandals are everyone’s go-to shoes in the summers. In the winters it gets pretty rainy and cold for them. However, now by wearing colorful tights underneath you can make these strappy sandals look good in the winters as well, while also avoiding the cold winds. Preferably the thick sandals that have straps horizontally around your feet, or are covered from the front. Try to avoid the vertical strapped thin sandals.
During the summer, tank tops are that piece of clothing that you can easily throw over anything whether it’s the bikini you wear on the beach or your favorite pair of shorts. Now, during the winter, you can wear it underneath long sleeve shirts, even lacy tops would look great. If you are feeling extra cold, layer it all up with a leather jacket and some opaque tights.
The key is to be creative with what you already have in your wardrobe. This will definitely save you a lot of time and money!
